<p>Edmonds is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. Edmonds has a view of the Puget Sound and both the Olympic Mountains and Cascade Range. As of 2007, Edmonds is the second most populous city in Snohomish County, ranking behind Everett. Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Edmonds ranks 37th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.</p>
<p>Edmonds is a port in the Washington State Ferries system. Currently, the only ferry is a short run to Kingston, Washington; in the past, there have been much longer routes to Port Townsend, Washington. </p>
<p>School District No. 15 is a school district that serves the communities of Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and portions of Brier and unincorporated Snohomish County in the state of Washington.<br>

Edmonds hosts a variety of parks, including a dog park, and an Underwater Park.
In addition, the city has one of the largest marine facilities in Snohomish County, the Port of Edmonds. The marina is partly artificial, being dredged to a depth of 13 feet, and can house 948 craft (668 in the water, and 280 in dry storage).
Theater
The Edmonds Movie Theater is located downtown, off Main Street. It is one of the last independtly owned, single screen theatres in Washington State. Built in 1923, it was orginally called The Princess. The original family who ran in sold it in 1965, to the owners of The Ridgemont in Seattle. For a few years the theater specialized in foreign films, undtil sold again and renamed The Edmonds. Later, it was put under the management of Robert Rhine.
The 252 seat theatre still has an upper balcony, velvet draping, traditional wood floors and a brass counter concession stand. One movie is shown for a span of two weeks, with three or four showings per day. The theater is also popular for its bottomless popcorn bag.

In 2006, the Edmonds Center for the Arts was opened.[10] This is one of two current theatres available for general performing arts, the other being the theatre at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
The Arts
Drama
Edmonds has one permanent, privately-funded drama group, The Driftwood Players. Their theatre, the Wade James Theatre, is located at 950 Main St., adjacent to Yost Park. Usually, they have 4-5 main performances per season, supplemented with short, one night plays. They have been present in the community since 1957.[11]
Arts Festival
Since 1957, Edmonds has annually hosted the Edmonds Arts Festival, a three-day art exhibit, on Fathers Day weekend. The festival is noted for especially for painting and drawing, in all mediums.
Jazz Connection
Every year the Rotary sponsors the Edmonds Jazz Connection festival, on Memorial Day Weekend in May. During the day, the festival showcases the best of school-age and high school jazz groups, and the evening show features prominent, professional jazz musicians. The event is a large draw for both local and regional audiences.
